Hanoi (VNA)Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam signed a decision approving a program to improve the quality of ethnic minority language teaching in the general education programs in the Period 2021-2030.

Thus, the program aims to complete the compilation of textbooks and teaching materials at the primary level for eight
ethnic minority languages who received curricula, namely Bahnar, Cham, Ede, Khmer, Jrai, Mnong, Mong and Thai by 2025; and ensuring an adequate supply of compiled textbooks and teaching materials.

At least one written ethnic minority language subject will be included in the general education curriculum, and the curriculum also strives to have enough ethnic minority language teachers, 45% of whom have standard qualifications and 100% of education administrators involved in the teaching of ethnic minority languages ​​receiving training.

The application of information technology in the teaching of ethnic minority languages ​​will be encouraged and dissemination intensified to raise awareness of the importance of teaching.

The program also focuses on improving the capacity of higher education institutions to develop curricula and open majors to train teachers of ethnic minority languages ​​and those who can teach different majors, including languages ethnic minorities./.
